En el mapa adjunto figuran la situación de la sede de Alcalá de Henares y la del Centro Astronómico de Yebes (CAY). Para llegar a la sede del OAN se debe seguir la carretera Nacional 2, tomar la salida hacia Meco (en el Km 31), desviarse inmediatamente hacia el interior del Campus de la Universidad de Alcalá de Henares y dirigirse al edificio indicado en los rótulos como Instituto Geográfico Nacional, situado en el extremo sudoeste del Campus.

How to get to the OAN-Alcalá offices

The OAN-Alcalá offices are located in the Campus of the University of Alcalá de Henares, about 33 km (20 miles) from downtown Madrid.

If travelling by car from Madrid or from the Madrid (Barajas) Airport you should take the National II (N-II) highway following the signs to Zaragoza and Barcelona. You will pass close to big cities like San Fernando de Henares, Torrejón de Ardoz and Alcalá de Henares. As you can see in the map, the Universitary Campus is located at the eastern end of Alcalá de Henares. You should leave the highway following the signal for Meco, Hospital, Campus (km 31). Immediately after leaving the highway turn to the left, indicated as Meco. Some two hundred meters (yards) from this point, leave this road to the right following the signs Hospital, Campus. The castle-like, grey-colored OAN building is located on the southwest corner of the Campus and can easily be identified. The in-campus road signs designate it as Instituto Geográfico Nacional.

If travelling by train from Madrid, you can take the train in either Chamartin, or Nuevos Ministerios, or Recoletos, or Atocha stations. The Nuevos Ministerios station connects with the metro line 10 to Madrid-Barajas international airport. The Recoletos station is close to the final stop for the Airport Bus. The train final destination has to be Guadalajara (not Alcalá de Henares) and you have to make sure that the train stops on the Universidad de Alcalá Station on the day you are going to travel. There is a train every 30 min, and the trip takes some 50 min. You should leave the train station heading west. You will pass next to the Science building and the Chemistry building, reaching the OAN building in a 10 min walk.
